Just An Update

Well Matthew is now on day 4 of being sick.  Thankfully it’s not the barfing bug that’s going around AGAIN.  But it means he’s home from school and arguing and fighting with everyone.

The snow is gone so kids are back to school.  They have missed 2 days for snow days this week.  Monday they had a great time playing in the snow.  Matthew even got to play a little bit before he was hit with the bug.

Aaron finally got in touch with the doctor yesterday.  They didn’t get his x-ray from Friday until yesterday!  Weird, since the place is across the street but at least his foot is not broken but he has a lot of soft tissue damage.  Last week they gave him a much nicer brace for his foot and that is helping.  He finally has one that is comfortable to wear and that’s a bonus, since he wouldn’t wear it otherwise.

Chad’s off to school today.  Hopefully behaving now that he knows I am in direct contact with his teachers all the time.  We’ll see.

Ebay – Deep In YOUR Pockets

Have you seen the new rules and fees?  Sorry ebay, I’m not taking one for the team here!  Someone needs to start up a competitor site because Paypal and Ebay are DEEP in the pockets together! Me as a seller with 100%+ feedback that I EARNED, “Oh ebay what’s that in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?”  Ebay, “Nope, who needs you?  It’s your share of the money that I am keeping, dummy!”  Don’t be fooled into thinking lower insertion fees is a good deal!  They’ve increased the final value fees a LOT!

From Ebay:

Seller Update: Fees, Rewards & Standards
eBay buyers want value and selection from sellers they can trust–and good sellers deserve rewards for delivering great customer service. That’s why we’re making a number of important changes that may affect you:

  1. Reduced Listing Fees (Please don’t be fooled, check out the FV fees at the bottom)
You asked, we listened. We’re reducing Insertion Fees and adjusting Final Value Fees to lower your up-front cost to sell on eBay. You wanted free Gallery, now you’ve got it–plus more feature discounts.

  2. Rewards for great sellers (rewards, are you serious?  You can’t leave -FB for buyers now?)
There will be discounts and incentives for those who satisfy customers best. Who decides who gets rewarded? Customers do, by giving sellers high Detailed Seller Ratings (DSRs).

  3. Feedback Changes
Significant changes coming soon will increase buyer confidence and showcase good sellers.

For more details on how these changes may affect you, attend a special Seller Webinar at 10:00 a.m. this Friday, February 1. You may also see announcements from eBay executives on the Announcement Board.

Writing Woes

Who doesn’t get confused with these words?  Ok, most of the time I don’t but the two that mess me up are Affect and Effect.  Here are some helpful hints on what all words mean 🙂

Affect – to act on (verb)

Effect – something that is produced by an agent or cause; consequence (noun)

To – expressing direction towards a person, place, point

Too – Also

Two – number 2

Our – possessive form of we – OUR children, OUR house

Are – verb – couldn’t find a definition for this one but you would use it like this:  We are going to paint our house.

So many others but I won’t go into it.  Mostly, I did this for me so I can try to remember the affect vs effect 🙂

Naked Cats?

I want a naked cat.  Seriously, I’ve always wanted something that would hang around the house and look worse naked then I do!  Think of the art projects the kids could do with a cat they could draw on!  Educational and entertaining all at once, what a deal!  And I could go to church with out looking like something coughed a hairball up on my tights!  Dreams…  Maybe I’ll just shave Oliver and Cleo.  Think they’ll mind?

Comments Please!

Hey now, don’t be shy, send those comments my way.  Give your opinion, say hi, or tell me what’s on your mind.  Come on, come on, I dare ya!  🙂
